Review: Hush, Hush

Author: Becca Fitzpatrick

Release Date: October 13th, 2009

Pages: 391

Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

Genre: Young Adult Fantasy/Romance

My Review:

First of all, let me just say that this book is addicting. Like 'stay up
until three in the morning because you just can't stop reading' addicting.   The plot was so intriguing and the characters were really well thought out, especially Patch Cipriano. You rock, Becca Fitzpatrick!

The lead heroine, Nora Gray is a somewhat typical one. She was smart, a little shy, and sometimes made me roll my eyes due to her lack of common sense. The only thing I didn't like about her was that she was predictable, just like a lot of other females in Young Adult literature. Overall though, I liked her a lot as a character.

But Patch. . .I loved Patch. He was dark, mysterious, and cute all at the same time! I mean yeah, at first he kind of creeped me out. He definitely grew on me though. Patch and Nora's relationship was awesome as well. It also was a bit typical, in comparison to other YA relationships I've read about in the past. (Cough cough Edward and Bella cough cough.)

Overall though, I loved how the book went along and the characters developed. I think all of the characters in this book had their time to shine and had meaning in the plot and development of the story. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, it really is an enjoyable read!

Happy Reading,
